How Does a Binary Converter Work?

For the conversion of binary to decimals, a binary converter calculates the value of each bit depending on their position within the string of bits. Positions are always equal to powers of two - 1, 2, 4, 8, and many more. The result of these calculations is added together to give a final figure.

For the conversion of binary to text, the binary converter divides bits into chunks of eight called bytes. These bytes correspond to a specific letter or symbol according to the used ASCII or other coding systems. The converter searches for a matching symbol and displays it on the screen.
