Formula
When adding GST, the tool multiplies the net price by the tax percentage to find the tax amount, then adds it to the net price. When removing GST, it divides the gross price by 1 plus the tax percentage (as a decimal) to extract the original net price.
Examples
In a GST exclusive calculation, the base invoice is $1,250. The tool calculates 5% of that base ($62.50) and adds it to the original amount to determine the final gross price to charge the client.
For a GST inclusive calculation, the ₹8,400 total already contains the 12% tax. The tool divides the total by 1.12 to extract the actual base price of ₹7,500 and the hidden tax amount of ₹900.
