Formula
The calculator first determines the exact monetary value of the discount by multiplying the original price by the decimal version of the discount percentage. It then subtracts those savings from the original price to find the final cost.
Examples
To calculate a standard 20% discount on a $120 item, the tool identifies the discount value ($24) and subtracts it from the base price, giving you the final checkout amount.
Double discount calculation applies the first 20% to drop the price to $160. The second 20% applies to that new $160 price (saving $32), not the original $200. This is why stacked 20% discounts actually equal a 36% total discount, not 40%.
